Slightly off dry, full bodied and delicious – the 2023 Hunting Lodge Plush Pinot Gris is a wine not to be missed. Pinot Gris has come under fire in recent years for not having enough flavour, being insipid or too ‘flat’ in comparison to other white varietals on the shelves. Trust us when we say this 2023 from The Hunting Lodge is anything but. Pinot Gris picked from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough was fermented in steel before spending time on its lees to intensify the varietal flavour and texture. It’s filled with ripe pear, juicy peach, toasty vanilla and has a buttery finish. It’s delicious on its own and will pair well with a wide range of foods.
