Stonecutter Estate Pinot Noir 2019

Stonecutter’s Pinot Noir has always offered the hallmarks of classic Martinborough: bright cherry and plum, subtle savoury tones, and smooth, rounded tannins shaped by the stony, wind-brushed terraces of the Ruamahanga River.

Planted in 1995, the Stonecutter vineyard sat on some of Martinborough’s most recognised gravel soils. The estate has since closed, making the 2019 vintage the last-ever Pinot Noir bottled under this label.

This wine normally retailed at $35, in line with other boutique Martinborough producers.

It is now offered at $12.99 per bottle by the case purely as a final-lot release following the vineyard’s closure — not because the quality changed.
