Matawhero Gisborne Pinot Gris 2025
Trust your Taste
Nashi pear, lychee and honeysuckle give this Gisborne Pinot Gris an inviting fragrance. It feels full and soft through the middle, then finishes dry with a fresh lift. Try it with fish, chicken or Japanese dishes when you want aromatic fruit and a rounded texture.
?

This suits you if you enjoy full, fragrant whites with soft texture and a dry finish.

How this wine feels
The first impression is generous and soft, with ripe fruit filling the middle of your mouth. A fresh edge keeps the finish clean and dry. There is little drying grip, making this an appealing choice if texture matters as much to you as fragrance.
The sliders show how strongly each characteristic comes through. Higher does not mean better.
How much presence and firmness the wine has in your mouth.
The drying, gripping feeling on your gums.
The fresh, mouth-watering edge of the wine.
Bitter, herbal or savoury character beyond the fruit.
How smooth and rounded the wine feels.
Ripe fruit character. This is not a sugar-sweetness rating.
Ripe fruit flavours can be present in dry wines. Sweet-Fruit Expression describes fruit character, not residual sugar.
Behind the bottle
From the Briant vineyard on Gisborne’s Patutahi Plateau, using parcels selected for both fragrance and texture.
Two parcels were fermented separately with aromatic yeast; fermentation was stopped by chilling when balanced.
