Manu means both bird and kite in Māori, and the Manu symbol is an interpretation of Te Manu Tukutuku, a traditional Māori kite. It reflects what Steve Bird is aiming for here: craftsmanship, elegance and the pure character of New Zealand.
The 2024 Marlborough season was dry and significantly warmer than normal, producing pristine fruit with intense varietal character. Harvest started a little earlier than usual to preserve freshness and keep the wine balanced.
Fruit is selected from sustainably managed vineyards across the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, then handled to build flavour and texture without losing the vivid Marlborough character Sauvignon Blanc lovers come for.

Passionfruit, blackcurrant, grapefruit and citrus blossom lead the aroma, backed by the fresh herbal lift that makes Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc so recognisable.
