Description

A sip of Ata Rangi Rosé is like a journey through a summer garden, with notes of watermelon, pomegranate, and pink peppercorn dancing on your palate. But this isn't just any Rosé - it's crafted by a family-owned winery with a rich history and a commitment to sustainability.

Ata Rangi is a Maori phrase meaning "dawn sky" or "new beginning," and that's exactly what this wine represents. The vineyard was founded in 1980 by Clive Paton, who was inspired by the Burgundy region of France and wanted to bring that same level of quality to New Zealand. Today, Ata Rangi is run by Clive's daughter, Helen, and her husband, who continue to uphold the family's legacy of excellence.

The Rosé is made using a traditional winemaking process, with the grapes handpicked and sorted before being gently pressed. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a crisp, refreshing wine that's perfect for sipping on a warm day. And because Ata Rangi is committed to sustainability, they use organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyard, ensuring that the land will continue to thrive for generations to come.

But let's talk about the taste. As soon as you pour a glass of Ata Rangi Rosé, you'll be greeted with a beautiful pink hue and a bouquet of aromas that will make your mouth water. The watermelon and pomegranate notes are front and center, with hints of sherbet and pecorino cheese adding complexity. On the palate, the wine is dry and crisp, with a refreshing acidity that makes it perfect for pairing with food.

Speaking of food, this Rosé is incredibly versatile. It pairs well with a wide range of dishes, from fresh salads to grilled seafood to charcuterie boards. We recommend serving it chilled and enjoying it with a platter of wild cured meats, hard cheeses, and cold smoked salmon - the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon with friends.
