Their winery ventures started in 1998 on their 40-acre farm located near Ripon, California in the San Joaquin Valley wine region. The winery has now expanded to owning hundreds of acres across multiple California AVAs. Although surrounded by large scale farms and vineyards and considered a large winery by many standards, McManis has a “small business” mentality that focuses on attention to detail and quality from the vineyard to the bottle.

McManis Family Vineyards has a large portfolio of premium wines that include Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petit Verdot, Barbara, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Viognier. Their wines are uniquely made as all single varietals.

These practices not only protect the environment and provide a safe work environment for their staff but also produce higher quality wines. Their expansive vineyards cover multiple AVAs across California. The River Junction AVA is the third smallest in California and grows their white wines and Pinot Noir. The Clarksburg AVA is bounded by the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta where they grow white wines on the Northridge and Ridgecrest vineyards.

The Borden Ranch AVA is a sub-appellation of the larger Lodi AVA and is the most topographically diverse region in Lodi. Here reside McManis’ Liberty and Sierra Loma vineyards, producing some of their red grapes. Also growing red grape varieties is their Lone Oak vineyard located in the Clement Hills Appellation of the Lodi AVA. Also in the Lodi AVA is their Creekside Vineyard in the Jahant appellation and the Wishek and Aberle vineyards in the Mokelumne River appellations.
