Grapes were first planted in 1788 in Aussie, but they did not initially do well. At the time, there was a lot of enthusiasm for making wine but less practical know-how. That changed in the 19th century, when several people brought grape growing and wine making knowledge to Australia. In the mid-1800s, immigrants with wine making traditions arrived and brought their wine knowledge with them.

Tea Tree Gully Shiraz 2022 (Riverland) The nose is fragrant with clove and toasted nut aromas. The palate is rounded with succulent flavours of aniseed, vibrant dark fruit, pepper and chocolate. Firm, dry tannins, subtle oak and rich well, well-balanced aged characteristics.

Yalumba Y-Series Sangiovese Rosé 2022 (South Australia) is made from the classic Italian variety Sangiovese, this light, bright and dry Rosé leaps from the glass with pretty floral and berry aromatics. A vibrant watermelon pink in colour. Red fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, strawberries and cream with a hint of fuchsia. The bright, luscious palate with pomegranate and cranberry flavours is completed by a refreshing citrus finish.

Just 'Cos Chardonnay 2021 (South Australia) hails from the prestigious Metala Vineyards in Langhorne Creek, South Australia. Delighting the senses with an aromatic bouquet of apricots and white peaches, it boasts a subtle nuttiness complemented by zesty lemon curd and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it offers a pleasing texture highlighted by citrus notes and luscious stone fruits. The wine concludes with a refreshing finish, buoyed by crisp acidity. A portion of this vintage, 15%, luxuriated in seasoned French oak for six months, while the remainder matured in stainless steel on light lees, ensuring a harmonious balance of flavours and textures.

Mr Riggs Outpost Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 A dark, almost opaque red in the glass. The bouquet is smoky and sensual, with hints of crushed iron, chocolate, mint and cedar. The palate is then surprisingly bright with mint sauce accents alongside concentrated blackcurrant, plum and boysenberry fruit. Spicy brightness and a silky mouthfeel lead to a satisfying finish.

The Black Chook McLaren Vale Shiraz Viognier 2019 (McLaren Valley) Crafted from 96% Shiraz and 4% Viognier, this outstanding full-bodied wine boasts a refined structure thanks to the Viognier. On the nose, it reveals inviting aromas of dark berries, floral nuances, and milk chocolate. The lush palate delivers rich flavours of dark berries, plums, dusty mocha, and subtle spice, all balanced by polished tannins and fine acidity. It's an excellent choice to pair with lamb chops or BBQ ribs.

Nugan Third Generation Shiraz 2022 is Deep crimson in appearance with youthful red hues. It has lifted ripe berry fruit aromas, with hints of pepper and dark chocolate. The aromas are complimented by sweet, red berry fruit flavours, spice, and a silky tannin finish.
