A top tier mix of white wines from across the world!

Maior De Mendoza Albariño On lees 2020 Move over Savvy, there’s a sassy Spanish vino blanco ready to WOW! And that is Albariño from the salty windswept Atlantic coast of Galicia in North western Spain. The outstanding producer is Maior de Mendoza, a winery based in Pontevedra. MdM is one of Galicia’s very first wineries, set up by the Barros family in 1978 before the Rias Baixes D.O. was even created. They have some of the oldest and most revered vines in the entire region and have, over the last half century, become leaders in producing award-winning, Atlantic-style Albariño that they export all over the world. Theprocess that has made them even more famous and different from the rest of the Rías Baixas DO is the use of lees, in which they have been pioneers, a technique they have been applying since their first harvest, when it was almost unknown in Galicia. Their wines positioned Albariño as the Best Spanish White Wine at the International Wine Challenge as Top 14 Whites of the World at Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, also as One of the 100 Best Value Wines of the World for Wine Spectator, among other recognitions. The MdM Albariño has a high aromatic intensity, with notes of white flowers, orange blossom, citrus (lime, tangerine), peach, white fruits, lychees, and fine yeasty lees. In the mouth is fresh, with good acidity, generous and unctuous, with volume, very fruity, creamy, long, and balanced. It’s a marriage made in heaven to serve with clams or any shellfish, fish, rice dishes, white meats, and also oriental cuisine.

Montalbano Pinot Grigio 2021 Somehow Italians seem to do it better J This vino bellissimo will not disappoint for so many diverse occasions. Mont ’Albano was founded in 1985 in the heart of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, as a result of the intuition of Mauro Braidot who, unlike the majority of the producers of the time, converted his first 5 hectares (12.3 acres) of vineyard to organic production. The company did not take long to grow, thanks to hisphilosophy and its excellent wines from Friuli, so the winery began processing grapes grown by other producers throughout Italy with the aim to develop a market of good wine at a great price-quality ratio. From passionate winemakers & through years of Italian tradition comes approachably priced yet divine wines. A real step up from your 'average' Pinot Grigio especially as it’s Organic & having benefited from extended ageing on lees, adding depth & weight to the palate. Pale straw in colour; its perfume is distinctly tropical, with a pronounced pear & passionfruit quality with citrus vibrancy. It is a well-structured wine with a good acidity and lingering finish. Enjoy this wine with just about everything!

Bogle Chenin Blanc 2021 Time to Go Bonkers for Bogle! From an iconic wine family - the Bogles are a six-generation farming family. The first generation in 1870 moved to California from Tennessee and set about trying to grow cherries, peaches, and pears. Sadly, that failed for the Bogles, but better things were to follow. The fourth generation, in 1968, planted 20 acres of grapes and grew for other wineries in the region. In 1979 they built the winery, that still stands today, and produced their own labels. Fifty years on, Bogle winemakers continue crafting great value wines from over 1500 acres of vineyards in the Clarksburg & Lodi areas. With all this experience & passion the Bogle farmers & winemakers know a thing or two about guaranteeing unrivalled quality for value. This is 100% stainless steel fermented which retains the maximum freshness and crispness to balance the honeyed, ripe, stone fruit flavours of this classy chenin blanc. The aromas of pineapple, spice and apples lead onto a soft palate with ripe fruits and hints of ginger. A very welcoming wine with a lovely ripe finish. Works well as an aperitif & also good with Asian & mildly spicy dishes.

Schloss Lieser Riesling Feinherb 2022 The world’s most misunderstood grape – Riesling. Try this vinous gem and you’ll be scouring every wine shop for more German Rieslings! More specifically, look for wines from the Mosel wine region which is considered by many as the source of the world’s finest and longest-lived Rieslings. One of the area’s oldest wineries is Weingut Schloss Lieser which was established around the turn of the century. In 1992, a very successful real estate broker from Cologne, Wolfgang Reichel, acquired the estate. His goal - make wines that live up to the potential of the Lieser vineyards. As manager and cellar master he hired Thomas Haag, son of the proprietor of the legendary Fritz Haag estate. The estate is now comprised of 17.5 acres of vineyard which are 100% planted to Riesling. The vineyards are some of the steepest on the Middle Mosel with grades up to 70%. This medium-dry wine has aromas of fruit & stony slate that lead to a fresh & round palate with a delicate saline finish. Schloss Lieser Feinherb SL shows a fresh classic Riesling nose with an intense scent of ripe yellow fruits & herbs. Refined minerality with a lively, filigree acid structure, a lot of lively fruit and elegance. A wonderful aperitif & summertime dropwith a pleasantly low alcohol content. Mouth-tingly deliciousness in a glass!
