Hugely exciting Aussie red opportunity thanks to stock getting rejected by China over spat with Aussie on tariffs, so the importer had to find a new home for it and exported it to NZ.
Since 1968 McPherson Wines have been one of Australia’s most well-known family run wineries. They grow grapes in estate vineyards located in Central Victoria and the Murray Darling region as well as sourcing grapes from trusted growers in the area. Their 2020 Pure Cabernets is made from Cabernet taken from their estate vineyards with Merlot added for softness, colour, and flavour. Individual parcels of fruit were kept separate all the way through fermentation before being meticulously picked over and only the best chosen for the final blend. This is a wine to be both drunk now but also kept over the next 5 years. Decant, swirl, and enjoy!
Perfect with red meats and spicy Asian dishes, try this wine with a barbequed steak, or slow cooked, rich beef ribs.

Fruit was harvested from their old vines in our exceptional riverside vineyards. The vineyard is situated on the banks of the Murray River, and is of sandy soils, with excellent draining providing ideal conditions for growing high quality fruit. Separate parcels of the wine spent between 6 and 12 months in French oak barriques, after which the final blending of select parcels took place.
A colourful character, Andrew McPherson has spent his working life making wine and has made an incredible contribution to the Australian Wine Industry. Andrew loves a great Shiraz and a great Sunday lunch, combining the two with family and friends on most weekends.

- Pricing For 1-12 bottles, shipping is $6.99 for Auckland, $8.99 for the North Island and $11.99 for the South Island. For 13 or more bottles, shipping is $11.99 for Auckland, $14.99 for the North Island and $17.99 for the South Island.
- Timing We estimate delivery to be up to 3-4 working days for urban NZ addresses, and up to 5 working days for rural delivery.
- Click and collect is available from our Albany warehouse shop.
- We do not ship outside of New Zealand.
- We are unable to deliver to PO Boxes. Delivery is via NZ Couriers.
Returns
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We’ll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
