Mount Maude Chardonnay 2021: A Rich and Elegant Wine from a Family-Owned Winery

Nestled in the stunning Maungawera Valley near Wanaka, New Zealand, Mount Maude is a small vineyard owned by Dawn and Terry Wilson. Since 1994, they have been cultivating grapes on a steep, north-facing terraced slope, taking advantage of the unique terroir and long dry autumns of Central Otago. The result is a range of exceptional wines, including the Maude Chardonnay 2021.

This classic Chardonnay boasts a pale straw color with lime green hints. On the nose, you'll find ripe stone fruits and poached pears, combined with hints of biscuit and toasted almonds from barrel maturation. The warm, rich palate is full of luscious stone fruit flavors, with great texture and power, yet finishes clean and crisp. It's a well-balanced and elegant wine that's perfect for any occasion.

At Mount Maude, the Wilsons are committed to sustainable winemaking practices, ensuring that their vineyard remains healthy and productive for generations to come. They use organic and biodynamic methods, avoiding the use of synthetic chemicals and fertilizers. This approach not only benefits the environment but also enhances the quality of the wine, resulting in a more authentic and flavorful product.

When it comes to food pairings, the Maude Chardonnay 2021 is a versatile wine that can complement a wide range of dishes.
