Talamonti was founded in 2001 by the Redmont – Di Tonno family, in a magnificent, unspoiled part of the Abruzzi. Their daily objective lies in constantly seeking the best interaction between the varietal in our vineyards, the sun-exposition, the training method, and the desired yield, with the sole desire to best express our unique terroir.

Talamonti vineyards at the turn of the century have expanded to 45 hectares in production in the municipality of Loreto Aprutino. In addition to the native Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, other varietals have been planted. Pecorino, for example was planted in 2004 as part of an estate experiment to study the ability of other varieties to adapt and express themselves. The vineyards circumnavigate our winery and are located at 300 meters above sea level with South East exposure in the Tavo Valley region.

The Cellars are filled with dozens of prime oak barrels selected for greater variety in origin, grain, seasoning and toasture. Following an extensive study on the aging of the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grape in wooden casks, Talamonti has chosen to utilize different 300 liters and 3400 liters oak barrels from Austria, France, USA, and Eastern Europe.

1x Talamonti Moda Cerasuolo Rosè 2021 Bold, fresh, delicious, fruit forward, and highly enjoyable, this contemporary expression of Abruzzo, where local roots bring together and inspire, and never to restrict. Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo was named a DOC in 2010, making it one of the more recently crowned appellations, but we think, one of the most interesting. It was named for the rose style of Montepulciano, called Cerasuolo because of its cherry red appearance in the bottle. The grapes for the 2021 were firstly pressed quickly to ensure a bright pink colour before being soaked for a short period of time to avoid any harsh tannins or acidity in the eventual wine. It’s filled with ripe raspberries and cherries as well as a sweet vanilla spice on the finish. Drink now. Loreto Aprutino (PE), Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo. 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes.

1x Talamonti Moda Trebbiano 2021 Easy drinking, fresh Trebbiano from Italy, a great option as things start to heat up across the country. Trebbiano dAbruzzo is a DOC located in the Abruzzo region of southern Italy and is the only DOC in the region producing white wine exclusively. The wines made here are pale yellow in colour with notes of stone fruit and citrus with soft acidity on the finish. The 2021 from Talamonti is typical of the region, with ripe lemon and granny smith apple being the most obvious on the palate. Chill it down and enjoy! 12% abv.

1x Talamonti Trabocchetto Pecorino 2020 Pecorino, commonly thought of as just a cheese, is also a white skinned grape grown throughout Italy! Once thought to be extinct, it had a resurgence in the 1980’s and is now produced in both single varietal and blended expressions, bringing its zingy acidity to its bottlings. The team at Talamonti source their Pecorino from Abruzzo, a region in the south of Italy more commonly known for Montepulciano. The 2020 vintage is a fruit bomb, balanced well with a medium body and zingy acidity. Its dry with notes of wild jasmine and Nashi pear on the finish.

1x Tre Saggi Talamonti Montepulciano 2017 Looking for an Italian red with a bit of age? This 2017 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo from the team at Talamonti is a drop just waiting to be drunk. Abruzzo is in the south of Italy and is well known for its Montepulciano, a grape as synonymous with Italy as pizza, pasta, and the Colosseum. The time in bottle has allowed the flavours to integrate and the acidity and tannin to soften, making the finish long and smooth. Notes of dark cherry, mocha and tobacco box spice are most obvious and linger on the palate until you’re ready for that next sip. Open, pour into a wide bowled glass and enjoy! Drink now.

2x Talamonti Moda Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2020 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, a classic Italian red made from Montepulciano grapes grown in Abruzzo, southern Italy. Montepulciano is planted widely around the country and is usually made in an easy drinking, fruit forward style with well-balanced acidity and tannin. It can serve as a great introduction to the region if your new to Italian reds. This 2020 from Talamonti is 100% vegan with notes of Damson plum and sweet violet on the nose. The palate is soft and the tannins merge subtly with the acidity resulting in a medium finish. This is a great weeknight quaffer and perfect to share with friends. Drink now. 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes. Loreto Aprutino (PE), Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
