Youthful, purple hue in the glass with a complex nose of cracked pepper, dark summer berries, black cherry and chocolate, combined with visceral, earthy characters, dried wild herbs and excellent but unobtrusive supporting oak. The Neudorf Home Block Moutere Pinot Noir is a wine that truly embodies the craft and community of family-owned wineries.

Neudorf is a family-owned winery located in the Moutere Hills of Nelson, New Zealand. The winery was founded in 1978 by Tim and Judy Finn, who were inspired by the traditional winemaking techniques of Burgundy. Today, their children, Todd and Rosie, continue the family legacy by producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

The Neudorf Home Block Moutere Pinot Noir is a testament to the family's commitment to sustainability and quality. The grapes are handpicked and sorted, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 11 months. The result is a wine that is complex, rich, and full of finesse.

On the palate, the Neudorf Home Block Moutere Pinot Noir has an initial savoury/black fruit entry that carries through a mouth-filling, richly structured palate. The texture is reminiscent of soft leather, and an underlying mineral acidity adds a certain juiciness and considerable length. The wine is a perfect pairing for roasted meats, game, and hearty stews.
