An exclusive offer from our trusty Italian supplier that our boss, a mad Primitivo lover, couldn't turn down. The quality and value from the Domodo makes it a must try for smooth red lovers. And as well as it being a fantastic deal, we're the only ones in NZ who have this stock.

Intensely fruity on the nose with raspberry, plum and currants meeting light warm spice. Primitivo wines from Puglia are renowned for being balanced, juicy and soft, and this is no exception.

It leans on the lighter side of Primitivos so is a great intro for those who are yet to try the grape or are after an approachable, go-to wine for dinner parties.

Give it a try if soft, fruity reds are your go to, especially NZ Merlot, and we have no doubt you'll be blown away at how far your money goes.

"Puglia, situated at the top of Italy’s heel, is an area synonymous with Primitivo. The hot Mediterranean climate and cooling sea breezes allow the grapes to thrive, producing wines which are intensely fruity and well structured. Known as the ‘early one’, Primitivo can be hard to wrangle and takes a winemaker with the proper knowledge of how to best vinify. Domodo’s 2019 is a great introduction to the grape and region, its filled with fruit and has a warming cinnamon finish. It also makes a great match with a variety of foods so try it at your next dinner party! Drink now and into the next few years." - 18/20, Wine Central Tasting Panel

San Marzano vineyard in spring

Buy any San Marzano product this July and go in the draw to win tickets to Vino Italiano presented by Sapori!*

It's an afternoon of tasting through Italian wines on Sat 31st August.

San Marzano is a small village in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC region. It was in 1962 that 19 winemakers came together and founded Cantine San Marzano in an area that wasn't at that time a DOC region but would soon be.

It wasn't until 1996 that the first bottles came out the cellar and this started a new chapter for San Marzano as they began to reach the end consumer.

To this day San Marzano embody the collision of tradition and contemporary winemaking. They are driven to "make a wine just like the one of our fathers did," and they achieve this by producing wines that are a celebration of viticulture and the history of the land.
