Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Portugal’s native Touriga Nacional have been blended together to produce a plush, full-bodied wine. Dark fruit flavours and spice mingle on the palate, with notes of blackberry, plum, dark cherries, and leather. There is oak here, but with only six months of contact, the ripe fruit flavours really shine through. Enjoy with grilled meats and blue cheeses.
Concerned about the decline of rare animal species in their area, Quinta de S. Sebastião decided to do something about it. Their “rare” range of wines supports organisations dedicated to helping endangered and threatened species in Portugal. The wines are made with the same high-quality standards this producer is known for, and this red blend is no exception.
88 Points, Roger Voss of Wine Enthusiast "Ripe and structured, with layers of red fruits and acidity, this is a fresh wine. Light tannins and balanced fruitiness show well together in a wine that is ready for drinking now."

Being rare and exclusive to the Iberian Peninsula, the Iberian lynx is one of the most endangered wild cats in the world and the most endangered carnivore in Europe, with less than a thousand animals in the wild, most of them in Spain. In Portugal, where there is a single but very important breeding population in the wild, in the Guadiana Valley, the species remains Critically Endangered. The Iberian Lynx has very particular characteristics that distinguish it from other cats. Namely, it’s stiff, brush-like black hairs on the tip of the ears, its short tail with a black tip, and the long white and black hairs on the muzzle that resemble beards and grow with age. Its yellow-brown coat with black patches allows it to camouflage beautifully through the Mediterranean landscape’s vegetation, where it lives, and each individual has a unique coat pattern, which enables one to distinguish it from all others of its species.
