Located just out of the Bordeaux township, Chateau Monsan Estebe is an estate that has been in the same family's hands for over 100 years, and was originally used as an orchard and dairy farm before being converted into vineyards, planted mostly with Merlot.
The grapes for this wine (85% Merlot/15% Cab Franc) were harvested when they were perfectly ripe, before being taken into the winery where they underwent a temperature-controlled fermentation followed by extended skin maceration of just over three weeks.
The result? It’s filled to the brim with ripe, dark fruits with a thread of vanilla and oak weaving through on the palate. Its full bodied and would pair well with a rib roast, mushroom ragu or a platter of hard chesses. Drink this one now, it won’t disappoint.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the property was covered with Chasselas grape variety, fruit trees and some meadows for dairy cows. Jean Grandean's grandfather and great-grandfather, died in 1904. In 1923, the second marriage of his widow allowed the Grandeau family from Dordogne, to set foot on the estate.

The momentum initiated by the post-war boom, is maintained thanks to the energetic enthusiasm of Richard Grandeau, and amplified by the new methods of agriculture. Thus, from the mid-60s, the vineyard has occupied a privileged place. Both son of Richard Grandeau, Régis and Hervé have boosted heritage forming a complementary tandem. A few kilometers from Bordeaux, Château Monsan Estebe owes its development to the passion of Régis and Hervé Grandeau. The 115 hectares are divided into two entities : Château Estebe 55 hectares and Château Lauduc 60 hectares.
