The name of this cuvée, Peyrouzelles, comes from the name of the plot which means pink rocks in the Occitan language and which was given to it because of the pink limestone rocks in the soils.

A nice red colour with pale lilac reflections. The nose reveals itself through red fruits, floral fragrances and hints of spice. The mouth is fresh and generous with a burst of fruit, well balanced by a nice acidity. The finish is delicious and long with smooth tannins.

Causse Marines is a domaine in Gaillac, France. It was named such after the local river that ribbons through the property (Marines) and the limestone soils (Causse). On their vineyard of 12ha, Causse Marines strives to honour the native grape varieties that have historically been grown in the region of Gaillac. Controlled by Quality France - certification for organic farming, their methods of cultivation prohibit weed killers, insecticides and any synthetic molecule.

13.5% ABV.

Biodynamic.

Candice Chow | 90 Points "Full, dark ruby-red with a purple hue, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full, with attractive, aromatic aromas of blackberry and black cherry, leading to floral hints and fruit cake. Medium-bodied, aromas of blackberry and cherry are fresh and vibrant, melded with a hint of floral, spiced fruit cake and farmyard. Soft, powdery tannin holds some power and lively acidity carries a juicy, sustained finish. Match with beef brisket and bolognese over the next 2-3 years. Made from a blend of local varieties, grown in biodynamic principles, indigenous yeasts fermentation, 13% alc, lightly sulphured before bottling." 18/20 pts (90pts) Oct 2023.
