Portugese wines are somewhat of a rarity in NZ, and you'll be hard pressed to find an extensive range in stores. They're exciting wines that offer exceptional value for money, and that's why we've gone out and sourced some direct. Dip your toes with this trio mix and find out why Portugal has so much more to offer than Port!

Quinta de S. Sebastião Rare Rosé 2020 The 2020 from Q.S.S is fruit forward, with spiced blackcurrants, vanilla, and black pepper on the palate. Pale pink in colour, this Rosé stuns with bright red fruit flavours of raspberry and strawberry accompanied by dried rose petals and white flowers. The crisp, silky smooth palate gives way to a medium finish with a hint of lingering spice. It can be drunk this year or into 2023. Enjoy!

San Sebastião Syrah 2018 You don’t often see Syrah fermented in stainless steel, but that’s exactly what San Sebastião has done with this wine! Skipping the oak means this wine’s ripe fruit character isn’t masked by anything and is on full display. Their 2018 red blend is made from a mix of Syrah and Tinta Roriz which has resulted in a rich, dark wine brimming with fruit. Theres notes of dried black fruit and ripe cherry, with mushroom and forest floor undertones. Drink it now, or over the next few year

San Sebastião Touriga Nacional 2017 Touriga Nacional is one of the most planted red wine grapes in Portugal and is one of the main grapes in Port. It’s known for its lush berry flavours and for making full-bodied, dry red wines. Touriga Nacional thrives in the warm, sunny Mediterranean climate and luxuriates in Portugal’s cool, Atlantic breezes. This wine by San Sebastião is deep garnet in colour with aromas of blackberry, dark raspberry, plum, and dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied with balanced acidity and velvety tannins. It would go lovely with red meat dishes, particularly venison and lamb.
